The fees for IJK consists of a few parts. It depends on the country you live in, your age (on the 28th July 2019), and the date you sign up. Thanks to this we can provide concerts, pay for the venue or support the participation of people with fewer resources. It could seem that the price is unfair, but unfortunately wealth isn’t the same throughout the world and we try to have the fairest prices, even though it’s difficult to adapt them this much. If you would like to help us and other Esperantists, your donations are always welcome.
The following prices are valid for individual members of TEJO (apart from the members with a guidebook), and patrons of TEJO in 2019. If you don’t belong in these categories, please add 30 €. So, if you would like to join our association, now is the perfect time (visit this website to save money and to help our movement!)
There is a 10 € discount for people who will give a talk or prepare an activity. If you know how to teach, are an experienced public speaker or would like to train other Esperantists, please help us and propose your activities.
Another discount exists for new learners who take part in the Esperanto course. Then, if you began to learn Esperanto after the last IJK (since August 2018 or after), for the course, write in your application that you are a new learner and ask your teacher to contact us for a 25% discount on your programme fee.
The minimum deposit is 40 €. Your registration is only valid after paying the deposit (apart from recipients of stipends from TEJO). The deposit is part of the fee (it isn’t an additional payment, but part of the whole cost paid in advance.) The deposit is non-refundable, but transferable.
Changes in your order
Changing your order for accommodation and food is possible twice until 30/06/2019. After that date or for more than two changes you have to pay an additional fee of 3 € per change.
Because a rich and good quality programme can’t be organised for free, we chose the following fees (comparing them also to events of a similar size of other non-governmental organisations.) Part-time attendance is calculated as follows: programme fee/ 5* number of days of attendance, but it won’t exceed the cost of the full time participant.
Note: Participants up to 12 (born after 28/07/2007) don’t pay the programme fee. They only pay for accommodation if they need a separate bed according to the following table. Food is ordered separately.

During IJK you can stay in different types of student residence. The first one is directly connected to the main building. There you can stay in 2 or 3 bed rooms.
The second student residence is connected to the venue where the evening programme will be held, so we recommend to party-goers to choose this residence. In this residence there are only 3 bed rooms.
Comment 1: In the second residence you can reserve a place only for the whole week. For part time participants we recommend the first residence.
Comment 2: At the moment we don’t offer a one-bed room, but in case of interest we can try to arrange them. If you are interested, please make a note in your registration. Be aware that a one-bed room would be available for full-time participants and at an additional cost.

If you need an invitation letter to acquire a visa for Slovakia, it costs 35 €. This doesn’t apply for participants from Russia or Ukraine, for whom the invitation letter, according to a separate agreement costs only 3 € and is also a chance to get a visa for free.
Comment: The fee is to be paid because the invitation letter has to be approved by the police. We can send invitation forms for the event only until the 15th June 2019. So if you need a visa, please reserve your place before this date. To receive the invitation letter, please fill out the relevant fields in the reservation. In addition please send directly to the email address firstname.lastname@example.org a photocopy of a valid passport (the page with the photo and the expiry date), which we will add to the invitation letter for the police.
Our consulate asks individual embassies to give IJK participants a free visa. This means that you may not have to pay extra for the visa at your embassy, but it can’t be completely guaranteed. Additionally we hope that the visas will be processed more quickly than usual.
